in demo site you can see on http://firstayudith.com/joomla/index.ph ... &Itemid=43 that the ul-li tag css icon is a little hidden for almost an half part of it by IE7

i tried to fix it with adding the left margin, but i can't check in IE7.
could you please tell me the result? is it still hidden ? http://74.86.90.178/~firsta/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43&Itemid=43.

now the hits align to the right  :). http://74.86.90.178/~firsta/joomla/index.php?view=category&id=28%3Acurrent-users&option=com_content&Itemid=41

my (last) third post  :P is for breadcrumbs by IE7,

you can see on http://firstayudith.com/joomla/index.ph ... &Itemid=41 it's good

but on http://firstayudith.com/joomla/index.ph ... &Itemid=27 it's hidden

I hope my observations / tests can be useful for your hard work  :)

i'm glad you did lots of test on my template  :) it is very useful. thank you  :D.

yes the breadcrumbs in IE7 is little bit confusing since the text is hidden but not the arrow and it happens to some pages only.
give me more time please. i'm still working on it.

I'm very enthusiast of your template and so when possible i'd like to help you with my tests :)

reply to your posts:

#121 - still partly hidden, now it is an half part of the half part! That is you can see about 3/4 and the hidden part is about 1/4

#122 - now it's good the alignement

#123 - the problem is to understand what's different in those pages

No. But I attach some screenshot so you can see the problem is not only on IE7. On Firefox 2.0.0.8 the bullets are mis-aligned (a couple of pixels to the left), on IE7 the portion exceeding the lef margin is clipped.

As you can see, in IE7 the breadcrumbs are garbled at default font size (I think it's the 'hidden' effect reported by newart), while they are somewhat visible but still buggy at larger font size.

Also note that changing font size in IE7 produces strange scaling on the bitmaps (included logo)

Hope this helps

sorry, very sorry but still partly hidden by that "guilty" IE7, in your site - I don't understand why - seems all the same as before doing your fixing. The problem is that IE7 hasn't as good as FireFox about standard instruction structures and so you are in a hurry for hacking your CSS in such a way that IE7 works...  :'(

moreover I see that in that Link at the end of the list ul/li there is no line space, no obvious room between 2 lines, between the last  sentence "A Table of a Category" and "Follow the links" -  maybe a bottom margin for the end of the ul/li should solve that problem.

Have a good work,
Ezio

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.8 too and seems okay with the bullets. I added more left margin (hopefully not get clipped in IE7 since in IE6 it make quite enough margin).

please see on http://firstayudith.com/joomla/index.ph ... &Itemid=48 the alignment of the number of hits is centered, it's more comfortable to see those numebers right aligned. You can see better in the last links where the hits are with only 1 digit, so you can see that they are in the center alignment.

I'm trying to understand why and what there is different in those pages where breadcrumbs fails... and in the page of http://firstayudith.com/joomla/index.ph ... &Itemid=40 by IE7 I've seen that the strange behaviour is also for the bullets (not working as per your good fixing) and the space created at the bottom of the list. very very strange!

Please try a new installation as I don't believe in a problem of your template for only that page...  ???  ???

The only visible difference that I can see is that in that page there is an Index page box  :-\

very sorry but I do not understand where is the trouble  :(

Hello everybody,
i started editing the theme now and i just want to say it's really easy and logic designed.

The only thing which doesn't seems to work for me ( I didnt need it anyway) is setting the bg color from backend. Which had no effect at all when i tried to.

Also it was very simple to make this template "%" width (just had to exchange the default 960px width values).
I will start now editing the color sheme and adding background images, if you want have a look :)
galaxymachine.de

Sofar this was the simplest template for custom editing to me and i tried (beez,rhuk-milkyway, purity) so far.
Really can recommand this template for a basic simple template which comes with joomla.

EDIT
Suggestion to make the content all same width:
Code:
.contentpaneopen{
width:100%;
}

Thx, Laura

Are you working in Windows? Try reducing the font size to the minimum pressing 2-3 times CTRL + -

Now it's better, but I think there's still some problem. In Firefox the alignment of bullets changes with font size, I cannot remember noticing this in any other website. In IE7 the align of bullets is fixed (one pixel to the left of previous paragraph), and if you increase the font size you eventually incur in the clipping mentioned previously.

Some more screenshot: firefox at the minimum font size, and IE7.

Please try changing the font size (CTRL+ + / CTRL+ -), and see if the breadcrumb problem changes.

Ciao

I 'fixed' the breadcrumb problem by turning off the syndication module. Once I did that, the breadcrumb links appear in their vertical entirety across all views.

I know that's not a solution but hopefully it will help narrow down the issue. IE7, BTW.

I've tried to reduce the font size and hopefully it will not become such a big issue with the bullet alignment as the text become difficult to read in 2-3 times CTRL - smaller font size. :-[

thanks for your screenshots aturetta  :)
