There is a problem for loading top menu at Joomla 1.5 RC3.
season=summer edges=curvy widthStyle=fluid TemplatePosition=center showComponent=1 useTitle=0 siteTitle=SiteGround titleFont=AG_Foreigner_Light_Plain_ Medium.ttf titleColor=135cae titleSize=32 useSlogan=0 siteSlogan=Template for Joomla 1.5 sloganFont=arial.ttf sloganColor=333333 sloganSize=12 pollstyle=FCF_Pie2D.swf showCP=1

I am seeing this code in the place of menu. Also i made a clear installation and with default template everything is ok but still same error with this template.

Make sure you update your template as well. I had this problem with rc2 and they made some changes that fixed that problem for me.
I just updated to RC3 and i am running the most recent siteground template, mine is working fine.

Then perhaps you guys could list these specs for your servers. It assisted them in fixing it for me :)

Hi! Great template!
Definetly my favorite out of all Joomla templates I've seen (1.0 & 1.5)!
For some reason however, all the images (icons, etc) (non-background)
hide after the page finishes loading.
(example: the feed icon, the arrow on the breadcrumbs, etc)
I notice this not only on my own Joomla site, but also on your demo.
Is that a feature, or a bug?
Thanks in advance for any help!
PS. I'm using IE7, Windows Vista Ultimate, if that could have anything to do with it...
-- olegbl

EDIT:
I tested removing various elements of the theme. The problem seems to be in the png.js file. Still not sure what it is though.

I just downloaded it as well to see the night theme. However, the folder and files are there, but no way to select it as the default theme.

Can´t install. I get a 404-page after trying to install.... Downloaded the ZIP today. Any ideas? Joomla 1.5RC3...

Hmmm.... Strange.... I get the 404-page and when I reload the page the template isn´t installed. But if I wait for a couple of seconds it´s there! So I guess it´s working now...

This is a FANTASTIC template....

I just wish there was something out there like this for 1.0.X..  I am just starting a new project and it will require Joomfish.  Joomfish does not work in 1.5 and so I have to stick with 1.0.X.  However, i really like this template..

Is there anything remotely similar out there that comes close to this template for 1.0.X? Siteground....  Have you developed anything similar for 1.0.X?

Regards,

unfortunately there is nothing similar that is possible to be created for 1.0.X - this is the beauty of Joomla 1.5 - there are so many new opportunities [Edit Mod: Self-promotion edited out. Please read forum rules and keep OT]

Hi Guys,

I am glad to announce the latest changes we have brought into the template (zip uploaded):

  • A totally new look - night mode - has been implemented. It is available for switching on/off from the template admin control panel as an option.
  • We have created a cascading menu system that can be used for the top menu in case you have configured multi-leveled recursive top menus in your Joomla. The menus appear underneath their respective parent on mouse over event up to three levels deep. Before using them the cascading menus need to be activated from the template admin control panel -> Cascading Top Menu option
  • We have elaborated the admin control over the visitor control panel options, allowing the admin to enable/disable each of the three aspects (theme, size, and position) separately. This enables the admin to let their visitors control only the options they want (or none, of course, if they disable all three)

You can see a demo with the new features here.

As always we would be thrilled to hear what you think of the new changes and process all your comments, suggestions, and remarks.

Best Regards,

Mike

May I ask where do you get the 404? In your web root/other folder where joomla is installed?

This is strange since whether the template was or was not installed successfully you would still be seeing the old template, since the new one is not made default automatically upon installation. After making it default you would still be accessing the Joomla index.php with or without the template working.

Best,

Mike

Thanks Kien for the feedback - this is now fixed. There was a bug in the edges style option of the template.

We have put the template under heavy testing and within a couple of hours hopefully all bugs should be fixed. Thanks for the feedback!  :)

Mike

I'm still seeing a bug with fluid mode enabled in Firefox 2.0.0.7 at 1024x768 res. The right side of the template is cut off a bit.

Again Mike, you and the team do not cease to amaze :D
The night theme is just beautiful! And will even work well with another site I have on the back burner for after the big project I spoke to you about. Keep up the good work!!!

Randy

:edit:
I think the Night template should be selectable in the control panel like the rest of the templates. Rather than having it set only under the admin panel.

Once again, I would like to thank you all for the feedback!

Sam604, indeed there is a problem with the right column in fluid mode. We will try to fix it as soon as possible.

Hey Guys, what do you know, another brand new feature today!

We have implemented a special Auto mode to the Night mode options in the control panel. Setting the Auto option results in automatic Night mode activation, based on individual visitor time. E.g. a visitor of your site whose local clock is reading 10:30 pm (22:30) or anywhere between 10pm and 6am will see your site in night mode. Visitors with local time in the daily timezone (6am - 10pm) will see the site in the theme that is otherwise set as default in the template admin panel.

In order to avoid possible confusion that may arise due to nature of the view precedence system in our template I will make some clarifications regarding what goes before what. The night mode in general has higher precedence than the theme - if enabled by  set to "on" or "auto" (and local time matches the night timezone in the "auto" case), the night mode overrides the theme setting. Otherwise the theme set in the template admin control panel is shown, unless overridden by custom selection from the client-side control panel (if enabled).

In a few words, night has the ultimate power :) over themes and overrides them in all cases. Then follows custom-selected theme from the client-side control panel, which has greater precedence than admin theme setting. Theme setting is last in that list.

I hope to have brought more clarity than confusion with the last couple of paragraphs. Should any questions trouble your minds, do not hesitate to ask!

Best,

Mike

When enabling SEO and mod_rewrite the template looses its style when you select FAQ and Pick any topic or when you select News Feeds and pick a news category.

This is a terrific template, very nice design, Hats Off to Siteground.

EDIT: All of the below now solved! Thanks Siteground.

However I have 4 questions, sorry if not all of them are on topic:

1. "Document.getElementById is null or not an object"
I get an error displayed in IE7 statusbar left lower corner when loading the demopage (aswell as loading my own page using siteground template). A yellow triangel saying "eror (in code) on page". Clicking on it I can view detailed report "Document.getElementById is...". Any way to clear this page/code error?

2. "Linkable Site Title"
It would be nice to have the Site Title clickable/linkable to the indexpage/home of your site.
So that a user always know the easiest way to navigate back to the startpage.

3. "Topmenu issue"
How do I go about to create the same topmenu DESIGN as in the demopage?
I have set up a "topmenu" main_module and some "menuobjects" - same way as "mainmenu".
- Topmenu appears at top of the page when "user4" is choosen in admin/module.
- Topmenu appears at bottom of the page when "top" is choosen i admin/module
- Most important: whatever I do the "topmenu" main_module does not appear with the same DESIGN as in demopage
(the design is restricted to a "list" in simple text, no nice placeholders like the demosite)
- Is "main_module" not to be used for my purpose or what?
- If so which module do you recommend for making my page similar to the demopage, is there a manual or similar somewhere?
I have been browsning the forum like mad so far trying to understand how to make a nice "topmenu" - with no luck so far.
Sorry for being a newbie in this. Probably not 100% on topic. But help/directions would be nice.

4. "Searchmodule issue"
Similar question - how do I make the serachmenu appear EXACTLY in the same toparea as in the siteground demo site?
Been trialling/erroring for a while now. So far with no luck.

I am using version 1.0.10  21/09/07 if it makes any diff.
Any help/direction is much appreciated.

Once again: thanks to Siteground for making such a terrific template  / Eyore

Hello eyore, thanks for the feedback!

Now to your questions:

1) Thanks for the info, we will take a look at the section of code we believe might be causing this error. It would be great if you can provide us with the full error text and the line number that IE reports the error to occur on.

2) I will forward your suggestion to our designers so that they can consider implementing such functionality. Of course it would be a good idea that the administrator would be able to switch on/off such functionality from the template admin panel.

3) I am not 100% sure I understand your problem correctly. Generally, the top menu should appear exactly as on the demo when installed without any need for configuration at all. It has to be set as user4 (as it is by default), unless you have enabled the cascading top menu option from the template admin panel, in which case it does not matter how it is set up, as long as you are talking about topmenu. I am not sure I understand well the rest of your question, so I would have to ask you to provide us with a link to your site so that we can have a look.

4) Same goes for search as does for topmenu - it should appear right where it is on the demo by default upon installation without having to do anything.

Just a question, what version of Joomla are you using?

Best,

Mike

Is there any way to set which menu should be on the top when Cascading Top Menu is enabled? I want to have it as the mainmenu, but can't seem to figure out how I can do it.

Edit: I tried changing sgmenu.php to mainmenu instead of topmenu, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Hi sam604,

Unfortunately in the current version of the template you can only have the top menu cascading. We will definitely consider the option to allow the main menu to be used as top menu with or without the cascading option.

Best,

Mike

Your template seems to not be RTL compatible, unlike others here.  >:(  It is a beautiful template and highly customizable, but I would like to see the core templates in Joomla with RTL support built in.

Based on the zip available in the first post, on last SVN (9227)

Quote:
body.width_fluid div#wrapper_right ,body.width_fluid div#wrapper_left ,body.width_fluid div#wrapper_center {
width: 1050px;
}

is not what one would call "fluid".

Admin language ini file is far from complete.
Joomla logo as well as png title and slogan do not display
Poll results do not get CSS as well as Faqs category, etc.
(Links are of the type
Quote:

.

Indeed no right to left display possible.

Uncompressed template package is 2.8 MB

Hello infograf768,

Quote:

Could you please elaborate on this one? What else is expected other than the admin options constants and their respective values?

Quote:
Joomla logo as well as png title and slogan do not display

What do you mean by that? By default when the template is installed the Joomla logo appears in the upper left in the header. If configured so from the template admin a custom title and slogan may appear.

Quote:

What format are the links expected to be in? Absolute URLs?

Thank you for the elaboration in advance!

Mike

I have noticed a problem on my site with your last version.
If I use Search Engine Friendly URLs while using Community Builder, Then the new user registration page shows with no formatting in this theme. If I switch over to milkyway for example, it works perfectly. Feel free to check it on my site. The details are still the same.
