hope this posts is in the right place

as a Joomla tinkerer I have usually let me sites evolve but now need to move to a point where I properly think about how they will be put together before the next refresh

a friend has told me Balsamiq is great but I just want to try a couple of free tools - but there are so many!

Any commendations from folks? thanks
