what should I do? I have only few articles .. but they are my own articles ... nobody has them ... so i hope people will visit my site .. but how to promote it?

You have to keep writing content - add pictures if you haven't and maybe some videos from [youtube] to help. It helps having a [youtube] channel talking about the same thing, and directing users to your website.

You need to submit your website to high page ranking blogs. Just make sure you are spamming them, i.e don't just post your link. Contribute something related to the topic and at last line your website.

To promote the website is let say not so easy task. First of all, the visitors should enjoy the content but to involve the visitors you have to make it great for Google as well. If Google puts it in top 10-20, it means that people will see it as well and will follow the link to read the articles etc. I suggest you to read this book: Google SEO secrets. What type of traffic are you trying to generate? If you want high volume, one-off traffic content syndication is the way to go. If you want more valuable, return users your website needs to offer something valuable to the user. IE you're a good writer so people want to return and see what you've written, or you offer a valuable good or service- neither of which I see on your website.

I think the main thing is to create quality content. Enough so that people entering them seem interesting and intend to return to see what's new ... Now, two excellent sources of traffic is twitter and facebook, I mean organic traffic. Where people know what you will find in the link you are submitting.

That's my opinion, I'm no expert by no means but I know people who do it with their webs.

The main two reasons are search engines and social media. With search engines, don't forget about yahoo and bing. They rank differently than google but can drive significant amount of traffic to your site.

In my opinion, the top 3 ways to drive traffic to a website are:

1. Create content that people want to share. If people want to share the content you have on your website, the URL will spread like wildfire.

2. Write your Meta Page Titles in a way that they are human friendly. By this, I mean to write something readable like this, "San Diego Criminal Defense Attorney" Don't just write a string of words like "Attorney, San Diego, Criminal, Defense". Google-bots do not like this. Also be sure to keep your meta page title under 100 characters.

3. Find a specific set of key words and stick with them. You do not want to try to optimize 50 different keywords or phrases. This will consume too much valuable time and it will not get you high rankings for any of the individual keywords. Figure out what the best key words are for your website, arrange those words into 2-3 human-friendly phrases that are each 3-4 word long, then make those 2-3 phrases your meta page title, with each phrase separated by a vertical line. Then focus your SEO efforts on various arrangements of those key words.
