My favorite place in all the web is joomla.org (second only to daniweb.com of course) and as I watched the logo competition unfold I was impressed with the ideas and creativity in designs that were presented. That gave me an idea :D

I recently commissioned a logo to be designed and was promised 4 revisions if I didn't like it.  Well,,,,,  I didn't and the designer vanished along with my green-backs and no revisions........

So I hope this isn't rude  ???  by posting this request in these forums but if ANYONE is interested in developing one for hire then please do drop me a line.  I've got several that were designed for me and several I've done but not quite the juice I'm after.

Jared.

Do you have a sample the logo made by the previous designer, that might help

Well, theres a color scheme version on my site located at http://www.jaredsdesigns.com which is far from what I want.

The color criteria is correct just not the design.  I explained that the logo must be clean with curves using a mathematical formula from a University Study I'm privy to have access.  The design just needs to be applicable to print as well as web presentation since it will be used on a project I'm doing for web based psychological profiling via Artificial Intelligence.  The project is funded by the University and government but I'm stuck with the bill for the logo since it has nothing to do with the project directly.

I just want to benefit from the association which is the objective behind the logo.

Jared

Sorry, My associates are at the University of Washington where we're conducting a study on "Beauty" by  numbers and have a formula that I would like considered.

I'll send details to your PM.

does the logo represent the formula or the logo must have a formula?
I think this would be a hard one  :o

Wouldnt mind taking a look too

as an engineer making a living of design
the idea of using a mathematical formula
to create a design is intriguing

sounds like the Fibonacci ratio

Is that the same as your calculation? I'd like to hear what you have too say as well. I suck at logos but love design in general so just eavesdropping here..

Actually you are correct?

The University study was published last year and was based originally on the work of Dr. Marquedt and Dr. Nancy Etcoff.  Since the study results are large enough to humble most books on the subject its a rather lofty document I'm lucky to be privy to.

That study along with the  project as mentioned began on the heels of another that would  allow us to create a character who would in fact be an artificial intelligence that would produce a psychological profile and analysis on the person interacting with the AI Bot.  It was being developed for disabled people, educators,  and law enforcement for psychological profiling of web users for intelligence gathering until the grant was suspended.

So................ I'm taking my part of the AI Bot and publishing it as a demo on my site using the very things we learned in the "Science of Beauty" study and some of the AI Bots Personality.  It or She, will be presented with a new commissioned female character illustration  beautifully designed by Jeremy Farlow at http://www.farlowstudios.com  I'll keep her name (AI Bot)  confidential at this point as well as the level of AI behind her design.  We commissioned her illustration based on these very numbers of "The Science of Beauty" and feel she meets our criteria to the best of his illustrative abilities.

I'd love a nice PRETTY  logo to go with our new interface (based on beauty by numbers) that reflects our simple slogan.

"Where Beauty Meets The Web" ®

Someone is likely to ask for access to the study and I'm going to just say.  Wait and see.  I'll be making a large portion of it available.

Jared.

P.S.  I know that this may seem lofty as it once was but I no longer have THEIR budget. Be gentil....  I'm on my own in the freelance market now.... :-[
