Hear Hear Tom,
I fully agree. Seeing the user behind the posts makes it all so much more personal, friendlier.
The user names displayed, take mine for instance, create a certain distance. They do not give any clue as to who is behind a post.

So let's start with another call to the community and ask registered user to post a personal picture.
