...and sisters, Kosson! Although I'd rather not shed blood for Joomla! - I'll spend a few sleepless nites helping in an upgrade, tho!

I am going to make this comment here in the lounge rather than in the official response to the congratulatory message. I gave it a bit of thought before responding.

What's particularly heartening is that despite Joomla's phenomenal growth, the forum continues to engender friendly, helpful advice. When we started Joomla! back in September 2005 there were naysayers, and plenty of them. In fact one so-called industry expert said Joomla! would "be a niche CMS". There's something rather gratifying in proving people wrong. Everyone who's taken the time to answer a question, solve a problem or submit a bug report is part of this success.
Please - enough with the references to the naysayers and being gratified proving people wrong! We are above this.
I am personally
uninterested in proving anyone wrong. I come here to be a part of something that I believe is good for the world and to help people learn how to use Joomla!. I especially like to help those who are kind of "freaked out" and see them happy when they realize they can grow and learn.
I think the portion of that message I quoted is very negative and defensive. It feels like "us against the world" and I want to openly welcome people, not push them away. We have nothing to prove to anyone. We do not have to justify our existence. If someone wants to use Joomla!, there is a talented, warm and welcoming crew here in the forums who will greet them warmly - 100,000th or not - and help them on their journey.
I apologize if my comments offended anyone. I hope, instead, you take this in a positive way to know - hey, maybe she's right - we can be proud of what has been accomplished whether anyone recognizes it, or not.
As it turns out, Joomla! is far more than the code - it's us - and I think we are an amazing community to which I proudly belong.
Thanks for listening.
Amy

I consider this whole post as totally OT, and more than that, OT on purpose.
You should have posted where it was asked to be done.
Now, on the content of your post:
The "Méthode Coué" is not part of Joomla!'s culture neither is the politically correct. (See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89mile_Cou%C3%A9 )
It is not in the little red (or stars and stripes, choose the decoration) book on "How to get altogether nicely in a better Open Source World"
We, the Joomla founders, who, grace to this community, have reached this impressive goal, are proud of the community and happy we took the right decision. It was not unnecessary to remind all that we were forecasted as going nowhere at London bookmakers.
This not not negativity, it is the truth. It is not defensive, it is a statement of what happened.
Shall we speak only of today's Germans and never again of the nazis? Obviously not. Memory is the most useful tool to fight any dictature. (Yes, I DO know this example is so far away from the little Joomla! matters..., but it is a strong image and shows well how ridiculous can be the "Méthode Coué").
It is the best way to show that the will of a few and the mass understanding of the righteousness of a decision can make the black birds close their mouths (les oiseaux de mauvais augure). This for ANY matter.

Certainly not and my participation to this adventure is a proof of it. Do I want to change the World with it? Not either: human nature is the same, whether in the virtual world as in the down-to-earth one.
Conclusion: Joomla! is not a teddy bear lover's association.
