Now if someone has a page speed plugin in their browser, i challenge you to say the time it takes each to load from your location. or even enter them all in http://www.webpagetest.org and get back to us! Thaindain took 9.2 seconds from the U.S. !!! Joomla.org 6 seconds, myspace rocketthemes and hardocp took about 4 seconds.

I have made a discovery about one of the sites on your list

One of my sites is carrying pop under adverts supposedly from this web site. These are not ads we chose to have, they just appeared. As we are the only ones with access it must have been a hack job. I suspect not by the company themselves but rather someone making a few extra pennies.

Our site is also on Joomla and I've looked high and low for where the edit has been made to the site and can't find it. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks for the not on the adware. This is not it. It effects anyone viewing the site, Mac or PC and is quite specific to that site.

It looks a lot of big sites already use joomla. But what I don't understand is how they made is so custom to look very different (unless we check source)

Cannot they make custom script which would be more good considering their exact requirement. I am sure one can answer my question. Reason is that I was using joomla long before on one of my site but later dropped it and used pligg because I wanted user to submit content. I know latest joomla would be supporting user access or such thing in 1.6 and that might bring back to me in joomla.
