Template modification.

Hey.
I,m trying to edit a template i got, i want to be able to only use the slideshow without the withe box under it on the front page. But the white filed seems to be the content for all pages, how can i edit my page so the front page only have the slideshow in the content and all other pages look exacly as they do now ?
