Well, after winning 2 games with one of the best strikers ever walking around I don't see anyone beating Brazil. Kinda heartbreaking to see the US gone so early.

I have it down to three countries: Brasil, Argentina or Germany (being the home site). I still think Brasil will make it, but we (the Dutch) can at least hope for a good result on sunday against Portugal (which we have a really bad record against).

In a way I dont really car who wins - I'm sure they will deserve it.

For me I'm just happy Australia made the 2nd round and against Italy we have a chance of progressing further.
Heck in cheering the Aussies on against Croatia and I admit I lost my voice in all the excitement

It was the most tense game of soccer I have ever watched - riveted me all the way to the end whistle, not bad considering I am a Rugby man  ;)

Germany started off bad, geting better (country I'm from originally);
French not playing well -waiting for later today to see if they make it at all..(country I lve in currently),
Swiss doing ok but real outsiders (most of my customers),
...
I think Spain is going to go far, Brazil too.. to early to make any statements.

And a nice match against the southern neighbours of Spain..... Which of the two underachievers will go through.

I'm with Rey.

The Aussies had a real dog-fight with Croatia to sneak into the 2nd round.

The funny thing about this game was two fold.

First, many of the Croatian players were born in Australia (from Croatian migrant parents) and spoke broad Aussie.

Second, one of the Croatian players got two yellow cards, stated to walk but the referee failed to show him the red card.  The player stayed on the field for a few more minutes until finally he received a third yellow card and subsequent red.

Had Croatia won the game, I'm sure the Australian team would have protested with good reason.

Either way, drama and fun all in 90 minutes.

I am happy Australia is now out, at least the people who thought they were going to win the World Cup will now keep quiet. :P

Brad, you and the austrialian's must be proud of your team, for the 1st time in a world cup is a good result, and last but not secondary loose aganist italy with a penalty at the last second, very unlucky

I think he meant a just a 'free' shot awarded by the referee.

Yeah, I know I am crazy, but I really saw us coming out of the first round. Then again many "experts" saw Brazil taking it all! And we did hang with Italy with only 9 men!

Good luck to the final four and a few avid fans in the US will be watching!

Wanna hear an opinion from a real expert? ;) (Aren't we all in germany? I think its the only thing we are really good in - pretending we are soccer experts...)

GERMANY WILL WIN!!  :-* 8)

I fear both, loosing and winning. The people are so damn charged and they are all so overheated, I fear they will tear down the whole country in each case. The party I was at on friday was at a larger bus station with about 5000 people and they climbed the buses and danced on top of them! And that was one of the smaller partys in a city with 250.000 people. I expect that not less than 180.000 people are watching the game in my town alone.
