I should be titled the 100 things you like about Joomla. Ok I'll narrow it down to 3.

1.  The ease of use and the availability of components including templates.
2.  The great community and developers and the availability of help.
3.    Let the SE's speak for themselves they major SE's suck up this stuff like its free caviar and free microbrews.

I think I broke a rule but this is a great CMS!
;D

...Ummm.. me thinks most of what I want to say in three things has been taken....

But so I can pat Joomla on the back...

  • Professional solution that is super user friendly to use. (is that one or two things...)
  • Wonderful Support Community including developers who build brilliant components and add-ons (now I know that is two things...)
  • Flexible for Development

So, when can we get married Joomla. I love you to bits!  :-[

1. Lots of templates.
2. Lots of extensions.
3. Easy to use content management.

Of course, there are things I wish were better in Joomla (SEF urls, resource usage), but it is the best solution for for the 3 things above. I could have used Drupal or another CMS, but they all lack 1 and 2 compared to Joomla. Building one's own CMS is also another alternative, but for most people, it's far too much work, especially when good CMS's are available. I don't think I will ever go back to building a website from scratch anymore.

- It proves that collaboration can work really well: no heirarchy, no half-hearted cooperation, just equality in collaboration.
- It's a very easy, quick path to get relatively professional and nice-looking results
- The community is wonderful.

1) The scope for expansion (in the extensions)
2) Easy to write your own hacks & modules
3) There's a wealth of great information in the community behind Joomla, particularly from the more experienced devs/users

In no particular order:

Frequent updates & good community support
Free (cost-wise)
Total customizeability
Reliability

(I know you said 3, but I have 4.)  :)

I won't say it's "easy" to use, because someone who is a total newbie with no coding skills might be overwhelmed. But someone who isn't afraid to play will soon get the hang of the basics. And of course, anyone with any type of coding ability will be more at ease with it depending on their level of expertise.

I switched from Mambo, if that tells you anything. *LOL* I've been using Joomla since the very beginning and glad I jumped over to it.

I posted before in this thread, but I have a new reason: it's hot!
I'm working as a webdesign/developer in the Netherlands and get more and more phonecalls because people want a Joomla! site. A year ago pepole wanted a site with a CMS, now they want Joomla!

It's amazing how fast Joomla! becomes a top brand with almost zero budget for marketing. Great work!

1.) What is the one major reason why you decided to use Joomla?

2.) What is the one benefit that Joomla gives you...that you could not live without?

My Answers:
1.) Joomla let me collect email addresses easily by having the login feature.
2.) I can make changes to my website from any computer with an Internet connection.

Great initiative! Thanks for starting this. 8)

1. Ease of use of the Administration area. It blew me away when I found it.

2. What I learn from community members.
