Installation Language problems Farsi Persian

Post by hloti » Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:02 am

i installed version 1.5 and selected the language to be Farsi/Persian. every thing went well with the installation. but when i logged in as administrator i could see that the language was english and it has actually not taken the Farsi language in at all. i looked at the web folder/language both for the site and for the admin and the farsi language folder was not ther at all. so what i did is that i manuually copied the farsi language folder under both section and the administration/language management list started to show both languages. so far so good.

the problem is that even though i select the default language to be Farsi in both sections, it is a mix of farsi and english. So what did i do wrong. i tried to install the language pack right from language administration first but all the time it said it cannot find the joomla xml file or some thing. thats why i copied the language folder manually.

can any one tell me what i did wrong and how can i fix this?

many many thanks

You have done nothing wrong.
The packs you have installed are just not complete yet as they are still beta2.
I think that the Persian packs for 1.5.1 will be uploaded soon to joomlacode.

Thanks a lot for your esponse. it took me some time but i found out also what was wrong. when i copied the language files under the admin section, it was actually the user section language files i copired there by mistake. so after i uploaded the right files it started to work. but you are also right it is not complete. i do hope soon they will complete it.

many many thanks that you cared to answer my question.

best regards
