Different content by languge

Post by Digital Island » Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:19 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a site with articles in 2 languages, and each language has different articles. I would like to separete the information by language, I am thinking on some options but would like to know your opinion.

I used joomfish in other websites and I do not think is going to give me the functionality I am looking for, could be that I do not know how to do it.

One option I am thinking is to split it on two sites divided by subdomain or subfolder by language.

Any suggetstions here?

I continued researching and I would like to list my findings to complement with your opinion:

Trough Joomla Multiple Domains and Web Sites in a single Joomla! installation http://docs.joomla.org/Multiple_Domains ... stallation

Found Virtual Domains Component and plugin http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... sites/7557 that can help me to redirect with a subdomain for each language

And with Joomfish http://www.joomfish.net/en/documentatio ... e-joomfish

I almost go with the Virtual Domains Component but decided to read your opinion before doing changes.

did someone applied on or other of the options mentioned?

any help will be appreciated

Is Joomla 1.7 an option? It has a much better multi language support than J1.5.

Joomla 1.5 is good but 1.7 is much better you can easily compare both and will definitely agree with me
