Hi maxh -

Thanks for participating in the Joomla! GHOP program.

I wanted to share this information from a previous thread where another contestent started with this task, and then decided otherwise. Hopefully, this information will help you be successful.

Please ask questions and we wlll try to help. We would appreciate it if you post at least every few days so that we know how you are doing and can help, if needed.

Thanks again and good luck!

Amy :)

Make screenshots of a few of the more commonly uses classes for modules and articles as examples and use a tabular format to show list of classes, which core template files  use them and a short description of what they do.

Class
Description
Associated Core File(s)

blog
Used for layout of Blog articles

components\com_content\views\category\tmpl\blog.php
components\com_content\views\frontpage\tmpl\default.php
components\com_content\views\section\tmpl\blog.php

Yoiu can a list of classes I complied a wiloe back at:

http://rc.hrpr.com/trunk/joomla-15-temp ... -file

I think the list is at least 90% accurate.  ;)

Another good resource is Waseem's blank template.

Hey! Check this out - it'll definitely help. Take a look at the CSS files provided in the template tutorial. It's chock full of information, and will give you a big start.

The two, above, are a lot better, IMO. They both are brief and to the point where the one you are pointing to tries to encompass the whole world of templating and HTML and xHTML and CSS. But, that's just my opinion.

Well, the CSS file inside the tutorial has all (or at least most) of the elements used by Joomla's frontend with no properties (ex "div.showmore { }")

It's a good help for making a list, especially when a lot of the styles are already listed in the CSS file, so a quick look at that would help.

Just a thought.

Shantanu -

No, I understand - and appreciate you sharing!

Now, check out those two links, from above.
  • The first link has a listing of the default css classes in one PDF and the IDs in another.
  • The second link has the same in a "starting" CSS file.
The lists are right there. This task is nearly done.  ;)

Thanks for all you are doing to help this program - you rock!

Max asked to have the task reopened for others due to his schedule.

All the best, Max - thanks for letting us know!
