041 - Translate part of the Installation Manual to a non-English Language

Post by newtux » Thu Dec 06, 2007 4:41 am

Hello everyone, my name is John and I'll be translating this into Russian! Sorry I didnt post on here sooner I never saw the comment announcing I should do this under mine. To quote the description on the Google code page:
Translate part of the Installation Manual to a non-English Language
Description

The Joomla! help site provides an Installation Manual in English.

http://help.joomla.org/content/category/48/268/302/

http://downloads.joomlacode.org/docmanf ... on_0.5.pdf

For this task you will translate (at a minimum) part of this manual into a
non-English language. Specifically, you should work first on these four
sections:

Minimum System Requirements http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1938/302/

Final Preparation http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1941/302/

Installation http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1943/302/

Web Browser Installation http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1947/302/
Just one question: The task mentions that I should find one person fluent in my language (russian) to review my work. Does this mean find a person on my own (friends, family, etc) or try to find somebody on this forum?

Cheers!

John -

How is your task proceeding? Is there anything we can do to help? As a reminder, this task is due on Dec 12. It would be helpful to hear of your progress soon.

Thanks!
Amy :)

newtux -

Are you interested in continuing with this task? Smart is now here to assist and review your work. If you want to get moving on this task, please let us know right away. The original due date has passed but we are certainly willing to extend that since we did not have a translator available to help you and review your work.

Please let us know as soon as possible. If you wait too long, we will have to open this task for someone else.

Thanks!
Amy :)

@smart - thank you - we will certainly remember that for the future!

Smart - We will contact you if another contestant signs up for Russian.

This task was reassigned after the contestant withdrew on December 11.

This thread will be locked now to prevent confusion with the Task 041 that has been reassigned.

Thanks!

Amy :)
