10 New Tasks Added: Help with testing Joomla! 1.5

Post by mcsmom » Sun Jan 06, 2008 5:56 am

Tonight I created ten new tasks based on the five unit test plans that have been completed as part of GHOP.

As you may know, the development work group went into a code freeze tonight (Saturday). This means that they won't be making an non essential changes while they and the community test the current build. The expectation is that there will be a release of Joomla! 1.5 stable this week. :)

What these tasks involve is systematically testing a specific part of Joomla! and recording the results. The tasks have a very short time limit, 2 Days, because of the schedule of the Development Work Group. They need the results in a few days so they can make final decisions about a stable release.

We have two copies of each of these tasks, since it is always better for testing purposes to have two independent testers.
So we must fix our vision not merely on the negative expulsion of war, but upon the positive affirmation of peace. MLK 1964.

We have to just add mark: OK or FAILED next to the test in file? If file is PDF, anserws can be putted into another file, right? Like that:
1.a: OK
1.b: OK
1.c FAIL
2.a OK
Issue 165: Unit test plan doesn't exist (http://enigmaportal.com/Joomla%20Unit%2 ... on%201.pdf)

Yes that would be great, try to make it readable.

One small important question: current build mean RC4 or Nightly?

Elin had written in the task definition "You can download the test package from the download tab in the code.google.com website."

This is the direct link:

Thanks for testing,

You are okay now, though, right? It's good to ask if it's not clear. I went ahead and added the link to each of the tasks. If it's not clear to one person, usually it's not clear to others. We want everyone testing the right code - so asking for clarification is the right thing to do!

Thanks, again!

The plan for testing the menu manager is now attached to the tasks at Google.
