document to verify the accuracy of the Joomla! development.

Possible information resources:
    * Wikipedia Test Case

    * Good Open Office Writer and communication skills.

Difficulty
Simple.

Documentation written for this task must be made available under the
Joomla! Electronic Documentation License.

Extra Credit (Optional)
50 specific tests.

Time Limit
2 weeks.

Task claimed: Sunday 23th of December
Task due: Saturday 5th of January

I know what to do, just made a unit test plan for the Article Manager. I'll post draft version #1 when halfway, draft #2 when I'm ready (and last the final of course).

I'll be one week off for holiday, but I'll be back Friday the 4th. Unit Test Plan will be ready before I'm gone. When something has to change, I can do this the 4th or 5th of January.

Bye,
Marieke

I think I've got a question!
About the English language..
When you go to the Template Manager, and then go with your mouse to one of the template names, a kind of pop-up will show with a preview of the template. But it isn't really a pop-up, because it doesn't open in a new screen or something like that. You, Englishmen, must have a 'special' word for it I assume (and actually.. don't know the word in Dutch either.. :-[).
Does some one have a good suggestion what word I should use or how to describe it?

Thanks :)
Marieke

I'm not Englishman but in your place I would name this: tip box or hint box or preview box. First idea is always the best so i think... tip box.

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Merry christmas!

Hi Marieke,

"Welkom", great to see the dutch are involved as well.
To answer your question on the "pop-up". What you see when your mouse goes over the template name is actually a Thumb-nail picture of the template. This is created as a "png" file from the template rendered in the browser.
So, it is not a pop-up or tiptool but a thumb_nail and in dutch (well you will know that of course :) ) it is a "Duimnagel" of een "klein plaatje".
This png file is part of the template installation file set and serves the puirpose of showing a live picture of the template.
For instance if there are more templates installed in the back-end, it is also nice to recognise them visually.

Succes ;)

Hi Marieke,

It looks very good, nice and clear. A couple of things to do with the difference between "speaking" english and " writing" english. If you write a document in english, you do not use words like " didn't" or "can't" or isn't". This is what is called "speaking english" :)
So, you have to write them in full like " did not" or " cannot" or " is not".  This is also true if you write  documents in Dutch, like a general document writing rule.

Also the numbering of the chapters and the paragraphs as I mentioned for your other document.
But hehe, it is up to dear Amy :) to do the evaluation.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply Pieter :)
You're correct about the didn't/did not part. I'll correct it in the final version!
I don't think I'm going to change the numbering of chapters. This is because you would get amazing numbers like 1.2.5.1.2, which looks very confusing. This will also not work that well with the lay-out, because the 'Action:' will move more to the right and causes nothing is nice lined anymore.

And now I'm going away ;D

Marieke -

You do spectacular work. It is very, very complete and should serve as an excellent testing document or start for an automated script for testing.

I accept this as complete. When you post it on your Google Task, we will mark it as complete there.

We might try to post a few more tasks next weekend. You might consider attempting a coding task. I would love to see what you are able to do in that area, as well. We can guide you through the "Joomla! stuff", so, if you have a bit of PHP background, or are willing to look things up as you go along, I'd encourage you to try that. (Provided we offer more tasks.)

You are a wonderful community member. Thank you, again, for your contributions to Joomla!.

Welcome back! :)
Thanks (again) for all those compliments!! :)

I posted the final documents at the ghop-topic, http://code.google.com/p/google-highly- ... tail?id=38
I saw you already closed this task.

About the coding tasks.. I don't have any experiences with coding. I think it would be nice and fun though. I've got the motivation and time ;) I'll need help of course, and don't know if I'm really able to complete it, but think I'll just try and see what happens.

Two tasks for implementation of this testing plan have been added at google: issues 163 and 164.
