Integration of Creative Commons API

I propose integration of creativecommons.org API into Joomla! The Extension will enable users to select and assign creative commons license to their content. It will use the API available by creativecommons.org (api.creativecommons.org) for this purpose. Creative commons is a non profit organization which provides, licensing to any content, such as video, text, images, websites or blogs (creativecommons.org) and is very popular.
Creative commons is on many social networks (http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Main_Page)
Virb, facebook, upcoming, myspace, flickr, revyer, [youtube], blip.tv, dotSUB, Scribd, mahalo
Providing an extension for creative commons license, I think is desperately needed (as I didn’t find, correct me if I am wrong), and I would like to do this in my Gsoc project.

This is great news. I have been looking for a way to use/add a creative commons license for my organization's content. We are a network of higher education institutions mainly in Europe, but have now expanded our network to include members from North America, South America, Africa and Asia. We are developing an educational website and would like to use a creative commons license for all our content.

Are you planning on an implementation similar to the one being proposed for Drupal at http://drupal.org/project/creativecommons

You have my vote and our international network of HE institutional members (hoping to reach 200 soon).

thanks for appreciating the idea, since i am not doing it this time in gsoc, as i have proposed a different idea ,
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=526&t=273163 here but i will work on it, if selected in gsoc than after it, and if not selected (:( god forbade!) will work on it this summer, this is i think very much needed for joomla!
