Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
mod_rewrite is turned on.
htaccess.txt has already been changed to .htaccess
Turning on search engine friendly URLs distorts the complete design of the website.
Need help and want to know the right procedure to get rid of this problem.
Any assistance would be highly appreciated.
If anybody has a solution please post.

Re: Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
try changing the template and see if it still happens, if it doesnt then check the url of css and images in the index file.

Re: Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
if this happens only with your current template and works fine with other template then you can attach the theme index file and someone will be able to help you out. But you first need to check if this happens only with this template or all templates. if it happens with all templates then it is not template related problem.

Re: Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
check how the files and images are linked, you will find it in the index.php pf the template, or post the index file and people can help.

Re: Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
or you can even send the code for one link,
should be something like
<?php echo $this->baseurl ?>/templates/template name /css/layout.css
see if it is in the same format.

Re: Problem in rewriting URL in Apache
I had the same issue. It turned out that my images were in the wrong index file. After I changed it everything looked normal.
