Install Joomla on IIS

I have successfully installed MySQL and PHP5. I also installed Joomla but when going through the steps I pass the language and Pre-Installation Check and the License but when attempting to configure the database the installation goes to a blank screen (Http 500 Internal Server Error). Sometimes when refreshing the page I get error "PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 1BCDAC5A"

Once this happens I have to restart IIS to be able to connect again to the configuration files.
All applications are on one Windows 2003 server.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
