Search Engine Friendly URLs 404 error

Hi to all!

I have a problem with the Search Engine Friendly URLs. I get 404 error.
I enabled the Search Engine Friendly URLs
I enabled Apache mod_rewrite
Add suffix to URLs off
httpacces.txt renamed to .httpacces
I added # before Options +FollowSymLinks at httpaccces file
I was waiting for 2 hours

after all these... nothing! Still error 404

Is there anybody who can help me please?

Are you sure before changing the name the file name was "httpacces" instead of "htacces". Maibe you misspelling the file name.

Sorry i mean htaccess. The file is named corectly. I just remove the .txt and I put a dot at the front.

Where are located your joomla files? Are in the root folder or in a subfolder?

hi tskiad,

very good permission of files.configuration.php is 777.index.html also there.its also 777.index.php is 666.wow very good.

please review first

if you give permission of your files 777 or 666 you will be soon one of the victim of hacking.please check

i will not take you to other direction but its just my concern.

can you please tell about your hosting and whether you have permission to mod_rewrite?
