Three questions

Post by r_cruoe » Sat Aug 14, 2010 12:07 pm

Hi,

I have three questions regarding the SEO of my site:

1) Is it possible to change the internal links from relative to absolute? Currently the menu items look like this: <a href="/menu"> I would like to change it to this <a href="http://domain.tld/menu">, as I have heard that absolute links are much better for SEO.

2) I am using the IJoomla NewsPortal component to manage the front page of my site, and because of some weird reason, Google only sees the content from the front page. After it gets out from the IJoomla rotation, it disappears from the search results.

3) I've heard that using H1, and H2 tags in the code are extremely important in the terms of SEO. Currently the logo of the site is in H1, but there are no H2 or H3 tags at all. How could I manage to put all headings from the category-blog view between H2 tags?

Thank you very much in advance!

1. No worries about this (for menus). It stands for links in articles - when someone can copy a part of it with some link. That link should be full.
2. I cant help because i didnt use it.
3. Yes, you should have h1, h2, h3 and h4. For SEOing your template with H tags you should use template overrides. We wrote in details about this :)
