Hello,

As to the request of my colleague @Guilliam, on behalf of the whole Joomla! User Group Philippines. We would like to follow-up the status of our application.

We would like to correct the mistake in using Pasig City, instead of Philippines.
Pasig is a small city within Manila.

Please correct:
Joomla! User Group Pasig City

To:
Joomla! User Group Philippines

http://community.joomla.org/user-groups.html

thank you,
-Jdam

Just thought I'd mention that the Northern Virginia JUG became officially registered about a week ago. And in the process I've decided to help others out in getting their JUG registered and helping OSM with making sure the process is smoother. Thanks to Elin and everyone at OSM for their commitment to this thriving community!

Hi,

Before starting the registration process, having read the
Joomla User Group FAQs, I would like to ask for a confirmation of how many and which are the JUGs currently registered for Brazil, as the http://community.joomla.org/user-groups.html lists only one.
Is that updated!?

Thanks,

Manoel J. Silva

Hi Manoel,

I checked our internal systems and there is currently only one registred and approved JUG in Brazil. You find it on the list.

Lorenzo,

Thank you for checking that for us, for your attention and for replying.
Now that it has been confirmed that Joomla! User Group Pará (Brazil) is currently the only registered and approved JUG in Brazil, we can move forward with our registration processes.

Thank you!

Edit: spelling.

while not being able to influence the system, i can see your entry in the works, as proof here is a snippet of what you entered.
Quote:

can i also check that you have applied for the domain name useage, otherwise you may be bouncing about. the team may not authorise the JUG on an authorised domain. if you follow my meaning

Thank you for confirming that it is there!

Absolutely.
There are rules to be followed and everyone should abide by them.

In our case the two requirements that mention domain registration:
Quote:
The proposed domain will not attempt to represent itself as part of Joomla!, joomla.org, or Open Source Matters, Inc., and will not cause confusion about its relationship with those entities.

Agree!

Quote:
I acknowledge that the license to use the requested domain name is non transferable, non exclusive and revokable without notice by Open Source Matters.

Agree!

We surely don't want to be bouncing about, as there's plenty of work to be done for the community! :)

Thank you once again,

Thank you very much.

You could tell me how long it usually takes to release the record?

We are applying to receive the 4º JoomlaDayBrasil in September 2010 and would be good to get out before that.

Just use this domain(Joomlabuild.com) to register a JUG.

Do I need to create another domain like JUGHK.COM to register again

Thanks
Ben

no, you can host your JUG anywhere really, but any "joomla" domain name must be registered.
eg userjug.com would only really need the JUG registration but joomlauserjug.com would need JUG and domain name use registration.

the JUG should be placed on an appropriate site, eg a "foreign" cms site hosting a JUG wouldnt go down to well!

Yes

Just got email from Elin

Hi Benjamin,

It's not necessary to email all of the addresses. The best way to find the
JUG team feedback is to visit their forum on forum,joomla.org. I will tell you,
though, that they have a back log and you need to be patient.

In the meantime, though, great to have a JUG in Hong Kong! That's terrific
news.

Seems that way. I've registered Estonian group more than a month ago. And no feedback so far ... :(

There is now a completely new process for registering your Joomla User Groups. The backlog has been cleared and all entries are ready for review by their owners.

To register, review your entry, or search for a user group, go to http://community.joomla.org/user-groups.html

To review a list of frequently asked questions, go to http://community.joomla.org/user-groups/jug-faq.html

Read the announcement at http://community.joomla.org/blogs/leade ... +Team+Blog)

The new process is much faster than before. In most cases, you may see approval within a few days.
