The Community Leadership Team has created a relief system for the backlog of Joomla User Group (JUG) submissions and correspondence. We would like your help to make this work though.

As of right now, if you are on the waiting list of people who have not heard back about a JUG submission, We have a new form that we ask you to fill out at your earliest convenience.

The link above is a temporary measure. A new system is underway for Joomla User Group registrations that will work very similarly to the Joomla Extension Directory. The new system should go live this weekend and be a tremendous change for the better. New requests are being handled as they come in and we're clearing out the old requests that have been hanging around and importing the valid ones into the new system.

So watch for an announcement Friday! And verify that your posting is correct when the system comes online.

How do I register a group?

Visit http://community.joomla.org/user-groups.html and navigate to your country. Select Register Your Group Here and complete the application form.
What are the requirements for becoming a registered group?

2 different contacts and 2 unique email addresses
People.Joomla.Org group (named the same as the JUG) or a website detailing your User Group
City or Regional area supporting this JUG
Commit to keep the information in the database up to date.
Commit to meet physically at least twice a year.
Postal Code (for radial map searches)
