It appears that all new images directories are being created with inappropriate permission settings.....mine are being set at 511.

-images (777)
--stories (777)
---test (511) ....this directory created by JCE. Because permissions are incorrect no uploads can take place

Right, I know where and why the problem exists and will get a fix up soon, more than likely tomorrow.

Thanks everyone

Ryan.

I also installed JCE and I'm quite pleased with it. I really like the modular structure and I can imagine a lot of plugins to be added soon.

Two things I really miss in JCE are:

- Image Caption... That is a really needed feature. We had it in mosCE and I hope that it will come back with the next release of JCE.
- Image Editor... Another great feature from mosCE. I know that Ryan is working on that since we had screenshots on his website few months ago. I prefer to wait a bit and get an awesome image editor, but this feature was used by many of my users to resize/crop their picture and save them as a copy. They could then use both formats. (needed in a shared library environment)

Now I noticed that the layout icons are all centered, which looks a bit weird to me, is that a template issue related to my own template or is that JCE default allignment?

Anyway, great release and I"m looking forward to seeing a SDK to develop plugins for JCE.

Matt

P.s: adding the help to the image manager really rocks. Even though it's not perfect yet, I really like the concept.

mossef hack: http://www.cellardoor.za.net/jce/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=6&Itemid=6

uninstall the SEF bot you have in joomla and install this version.

that is a template issue there. if you are using the 247portal by mambotheme.com then you got that issue. if you try the original theme installed by joomla, then it wouldnt be centered.

i noticed something else, completely unrelated to the previous problems:

in jce layout manager, i emptied the 4th row completely by dragging all icons to other rows. now i can't refill the 4th row. upon saving the manager states
Quote:
Successfully Saved Layout
but the layout is still the old one.

the mambot now gives a warning
Code:
Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Bad arguments. in /home/Kunden/K069011/www/akron-info.de/htdocs/mambots/editors/jce.php on line 215

which is probably due to the 4th row button array being empty.

thanks b3rx, I'll look into my CSS.

Shouldn't we continue this thread http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,42571.0.html instead?

Configuration is through the editor mambot parameters.

Thank you I have been looking forward to this one in the hope it would solve a problem that I have not been able to solve for a while now.

But it did not :(

I use DocMan and for some reason it displays the editor with all the toolbars horizontaly next to eachother.
as a result the editor become 3 times as wide as it should be and "falls" outside my normal template configuration.

I use the rhuk_solarflare_ii template. (J 1.0.8 , and DOCMan v1.3 RC2)

it's probably something easy .. if somebody else has seen this and can give me a hint it would be greatly appreciated.

mosce 1.0.3 final did not have this issue so I had been ussing that and hoped this would solve it.

I've added this in the mambot parameter setting:
$editor_css_override = '1';

but i't doesn't make a difference
I have my site template background comming back into the editor background. Which makes it unable to read anything in the editor

give me a gun and a bullet :p

Could somebody please wake me up? This is working so smoothly on my site, it feels like i'm dreaming 8)

Only one remark so far: the issue with anchor-links not working in Mosce, still stands in Jce :(

Yes it works like a dream.

??? Can any expert out there point me in the right direction....

When I click to view the HTML code the popup window is blank....same for the HTML Template popup.

All other popups are fine. I am using FireFox1.5.0.1.......it works fine in IE

Anyone else experienced this....I know it is NOT a JCE fault!

I deleted all files (inc database entries) and reinstalled.

It was like this for the first install.

AS I said I do not believe it is JCE fault....probably a browser setting or somehting. I presume others can get HTML view in FireFox? I can view HTML fine in Internet Explorer. I just prefer using Firefox.

Anyone any ideas?

Hello happy noodle boy

Congratulations for your new achievment. Your work, supply the mambo/joomla community with the best wysuiwyg editors.

Mosce had a "Insert Caption" Plugin. I loved that plugin. The same plugin is also available to JCE?

When using the popup image feature all goes well except next to the popup window the main browser window opens as follows : http://www.domain.nl/javascript:void(0) instead that it stays on the page the image popup opens from.

So I get a 404 error.

Any idea how to fix this?

thx
Karl

There is a patch available for this problem in the download section on http://www.cellardoor.za.net/jce under "extra"

i think there's a problem with the pdf icon of the filemanager plug-in.

after installation:
if i insert a link to a pdf file it only shows 'pdf' and not the icon.
Links to Word-docs ,.... work like a charm.

solution: i transfered the "pdf_small.gif" (from the jce_filemanager.zip) into mambots/editors/jce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/filemanager/images/ext/ manually (ftp) - now it works. wicked. maybe something with the install process of the plug-in?

i tried it two times :)

really great work this thing

and also all files are uploaded with wrong permissions - i can upload with the Filemanager ,but have to change the permissions afterwards (using ftp) - otherwise "you're not allowed ...".
