wow very nice...

how about doclink integration?
i hope this will also possible...

Definately, through a JCE plugin. Haven't got round to this yet, but I will soon, unless someone beats me to it.

Hello!

If I would install the new JoomlaCE Editor next week, will the popup image problem be solved????

Because I do not know what to do with the much broken popuplinks on my homepage (after joomla 1.0.8 upgrade)

But I think you are going to program the best WYSIWYG editor!!!!

Popups are done differently now, but there is some backwards compatability built in. Everything now works off index2.php.
eg: index2.php?option=com_jce&task=plugin&plugin=imgmanager&file=images.php

Ryan,

Is somebody already busy with translating this beauty into dutch? If not, i'd be happy to try to finally contribute to the Joomlacommuty building a translation (that is if i'm capable of doing it, i can handle the translations of most components etc. but i'm not sure if this is working the same way?)

Just give me a yell, i'll be happy to help

Almost everything is translateable, except the xml files for Plugin parameters. Translators can create language packs to install. A language pack would contain files for the Admin component, the core JCE language files (including the TinyMCE js files) and optionally the various plugin language files.

eddyyanto wrote:
Does this great thing got any browser compatibility issue?
I tried mosCE before but it doesn't make me amazed.
Sometimes, I had to scratch my head before getting
something done nicely.

I tried to open mosCE in three different browser (IE, Firefox and Opera),
but not all of them show-up flawlessly, so with the toolbars which should be
in somewhere were missing.

I do my best to try and make it compatile with both IE and Firefox, I can't promise anything on the others. I rely on Moxiecode to handle compaqtablilty with the TinyMCE stuff, as I am not that proficient with Javascript.

would wrote:
first of all - i love to use mosCE - it's really the best editor i've ever tried.

but one question: if i upgrade from mosCE to JCE - will this break something (Especially Filetype Icons,.....) in existing news,.....

thanks!

I am making every effort to try and make JCE backwards compatible with mosCE stuff, although some changes in TinyMCE 2.0.3 broke the file links, basically because I used the name tag incorrectly as an identifier, instead of id. With regards to image popups, existing ones should work, and all you need to do to convert them is open them with the Image Manager and hit 'Update'.

By the way....I live in a GMT +2 timezone.

I'm still working on it now by the way. Its a public holiday here in South Africa so I am making good use of the time, supposed to be voting actually...

Time will tell. Ryan spent a long time and a lot of hard work on JCE. Once it is released, it is important that we test the release, and give him the feedback he needs as a developer.

my only problem is that when it comes available we also need to upgrade to 1.0.8 and THAT i was rather not planning to do at this moment after testing on our testservers so it remains testing and feed-back from testserver which by the way is anyhow a good idea for all!

So it will be tested on both J 1.0.7 and 1.0.8, only the better.

excited. great work ryan! another winner again! :)

just a question:

mosce_config.php or the configuration file possible to be placed in a nearer path from the webroot? since on previous versions the file is deeply located within the moce mambot. i.e.:

WEBROOT\mambots\editors\mosce\jscripts\tiny_mce\mosce_config.php

this becomes a little harder for someone who is in a host which has safe mode on and trying to change the permission of the file(to mak writtable, if unwrittable) since have to go with a lot of subfolders(longer to type if we change the permission via shell too). :)

just an idea :)

Looks great! :-*

I also had the same issue with the editor not showing up in all browsers...specifically, clients'! lol Worked fine for me, but my client couldn't see it in her version of IE. :o So, I had to go with a commercial component. Oh, well! Looking forward to giving this a try on future projects.

Any idea on whether it will work on a Mac? My next project is for a client who uses Macs....

No, no spell checker yet.

There was going to be one, but it's a bit difficult to implement, especially since this one is/was going to have the option of using PSpell or a MySQL wordlist.

The modular nature of JCE allows us to bolt things on afterwards. There will be a SpellChecker plugin and Component released in the near future.

Tip: Use the Google toolbar than you can spellcheck any form including the texterea in the editor.

JCE does not use a config file anymore. The necessary 'config' parameters are stored in it's mambot parameters, as are al the config things for the plugins.

Looks like I've created quite a buzz here :)

Yeas its' Thursday, and I still have a release, just finishing up the packaging. There are some issues though that we will have to try and sort out, but I will get to those in the release announcement.

Expect it a little later today.
