What about the File Manager or Media Manager?

After I've installed the JCE Editor mambot and configured it(using administrator access), when I login as a user (permission set to Author) and try to insert new content through the editor the Filemanager Icon is not displayed in the toorbar.  Kindly help!!!!!

yessir the plugin is published, no wonder I'm able to see the Filemanager Icon and Doclink Icons in the JCE Layout Manager!! but not visible in the JCE Editor when I'm trying to upload files as a normal user using the front-end

Have you by some chance installed the File Manager 1.1.0 beta 2 while using JCE Editor Mambot 1.0.4?

Ya you were right about it, which version of File Manager for JCE would be compatible to JCE Editor mambot version 1.0.4

I found this thread when looking for a solution to the problem of JCE display really really wide in DocMan (one line toolbar). I didn't see a solution, but found one at http://www.cellardoor.za.net/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=&func=view&catid=7&id=87#87

Basically you have to edit the theme.css file in components / com_docman / themes / default / css /
and replace
  .dm_form br      { display: none; }
with
.dm_form br      { display: block; }

I hope this helps someone else looking for the same issue.

Didn't work for me. This is a stubborn darn problem. I wish either the JCE or Docman programmers would look into it, since both progs are really nice and I wish they would play together - users get really confused when the actual working area of the comment screen is somewhere to the right of their video - unless they have a Really big monitor.

It would be worth testing again to see if your change has properly gone through. The first time I tried it didn't get saved properly.
One way is to use Firefox and the web developer toolbar (http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/) and press Ctrl+Shift+C (or view CSS), then search for that style (br) to see what is actually getting displayed.
I'd be interested to see if this shows display:block but it actually didn't work (still displaying none)...

Hooray Hooray - It took! Thankya. Oh happy day  :D  The mystery solved. It just shows - ya gotta be stubborn.

Now, the next thing with docman is it's really cryptic. I just know the editor that appears in the third step will confuse people as to what it's for. Some will think they're supposed to enter their document there, or a story - not just a file description. I've been idiot-proofing a long time, including for myself, and I'm certain of this.

Is there any way I could add some nice explanatory comment to the docman frontend pages?
