Hi,
I know that may sound not an good idea for some reasons/people.
However, innovation and creativity does rule the world different from what was actually planned. Recently we've done a sort of app builder and initially we wanted only mobile web apps as well as native apps. It works good as modern RIA have to, thanks to Dojo and its Dnd features. However, we noticed we could produce now also desktop apps or any other mashups with it, using Joomla and a few other's database as input/output.
We're looking at Node (well, we know its problematic) to replace our Java stack against something more mobile :-). Does such a thing has any use to you guys ? My self likes the idea of having almost zero dependencies, even adding p2p facilities looks very interesting. De facto, you could carry your CMS on a pen drive to the next hotspot for a sync for instance, or just share it through ad-hoc wifi to next TV or projector, or creating landing pages for routers, or embedded systems. That are just a few amongst many options.

Well, are there plans regarding Node or/and a Php&SQL replacement ?

Wow, 800+ clicks. Seems interesting for some people at least.

Another adventure we've going into is the graphical programming of the entire site or web app. I've been working over a decade on game engines and e-learning software, using a flow chart system for scripting. More or less, users could create widgets as shown here :

http://feedscape.appspot.com/ and share back into the public domain. Site holders plug them then into their site or just fork them further.

However, we still need til the end of the year that we've got something usable for Joomla users. It looks we can provide an open source version of our app-studio as regular Joomla component. That includes then a number of API's such as for accessing data and a render engine which takes care about the target platform(desktop/mobile).

I really can't wait !
