RPC after 1.5

Hi,

the RPC plugin has been removed from the 1.6 trunk without any reason.

Does anybody knows whether Joomla will have a proper RPC interface in the future ?

Well, just to let you know, its really a pain being not able to show Joomla's site content(+cats) without PHP.

The only choices left for 3th party devs is

1. Grabbing the data over MySQL. Of course that might be a security issue,.. at least for a few.
2. Writing a JED compatible plug-in. Of course, thats not really how it should work.


Once again, please provide a standard built-in REST service. Its enough for built-in components but may be it should be expandable to plugs as well.
Otherwise, I see Joomla rather in a jail than FREE. ( Suggestion : please have a look at IBM's ideas about RDF)

Is there something on the internal roadmap ?

Finally we've fixed some other's code and brought XML-RPC back to live. You can download it here : http://www.xapp-studio.com/web/xapp-studio/downloads. We also added support for read-only support for JEvents & Moset Tree. The component is GPL and under maintenance.
