Joomla 1.8 is supposed to be released in Jan. 2012.

Okay, so they're just calling it 2.5 instead of 1.8. There's been a lot of discussion about what to call it. I guess they've decided to call it 2.5. A rose is a rose is a rose...

well, I'm not sure about "just calling it", but for some people will say "version is important"
no more 1+1=2

I've also read, though, that they want to name the LTSs "X.5" (probably because the latest LTS is 1.5 and they want to continue that pattern). I wonder how they're going to do that, though, since they want to have 2 STSs in between the LTSs...

Yup, not just read about it, more clearly is see robo talk.
2sts on 1lts, Absolutly don't know about it. I'm just user, as long as open, joomla is joomla.
