JSON-REST-API for Joomla !

There so many people asking (stackoverflow, forums, blogs) and so many dead projects on this topic and still no moves within the latest source code branches (2.5,3..). I also found many discusissions which end mostly in nada. What's going on with Joomla's future of connectivity ?

It would be great if anyone could say something about. There were good attampts in 1.6 but it got removed and the discussions and code submissions make it looking that Joomla doesn't want REST services and I am hopefully wrong on that.

We've recently brought XML-RPC for 1.6+ back to live but that's not state of art and I am facing a pretty nasty task which belongs rather to core developers :

enabling a REST-API server system wide, or at least for core components. Would it be possible at all ? It should work similar to template overrides, so every controller can modify the default serialization,...

Note that if someone isn't already working on it, they won't start working on it for your sake... you'll have to code it yourself and submit to core (make a pull request).

thank you. So I did but I doubt I will ever get an answer from there. I don't think its just for my sake only, that's I why asked here. As mentioned there are many many, til hundreds open questions and also many dead/killed projects across the entire net and nothing brought the light up. There was even a code submission, work total time 1880 hours and it has been closed and also totally ignored ! Why should I also invest another 1000 hours when core developer seem to have no interest in interoperability ?

Such things belongs into the core, don't you think ? Almost every modern CMS has it, why not Joomla...
