It is difficult for a Joomla newbie to define where are the front-end items in the back-end. What are they - articles, menus or modules...

It is great to integrate a search engine to the back-end. So users can figure out and go to the section that holds the item easily.

Where would you prefer something like this living in the administrator backend? I think a component could easily be created that would allow for this, but I wasn't sure if that's what you were asking for.

I'd like it to be in the back-end. Please check the screenshot for more details. There we can easily search for Joomla articles, modules... without clicking separately on the menu items. It saves time.

I'm thinking this could be done as an administrator module that utilizes the existing search plugins. If you are interested in having it and giving me feedback, let me know and I can try to make something really quickly.

Let me know,
Will

Hi wlrdq,

Thank you for your enthusiasm. I'd love if it is integrated into Joomla back-end. So that, a lot of people can use it.

I don't know how difficult it is to get something added to the Joomla! core, but I'm guessing it's difficult.

Not too difficult. Put it into the feature tracker on Joomla code, and upload you proposed patch onto github (where other people can check it out. It will then go through the testing procedure.
