New Joomla Admin Interface
Joomla is in no doubt the best CMS out there. As designers and developers, we all strive to produce the best extensions possible. But there is one thing about Joomla that is sometimes off the mark- the administration section interface. I feel that it is time a new and more appealing administration section interface is designed and developed.
Apart from that, when will drag and drop be implemented in Joomla admin section? It is cumbersome clicking and waiting for the links to open like when creating the menu and modules instead of just dragging and dropping like in Wordpress. That would be great.

Re: New Joomla Admin Interface
I think it's a matter of preferences, I like more Joomla admin interface than Wordpress admin interface.

Re: New Joomla Admin Interface
It is true that it is preference, but wouldn't it be nice to come up something unique from the current one?

Agreed. Personally I don't see any reason for the admin interface to change by default, even if so you can always use a theme/style to do that to your liking.ionut wrote:I think it's a matter of preferences, I like more Joomla admin interface than Wordpress admin interface.

I'm also glad that admin interface does not change too much. However, I agree that "drag and drop" could be implemented. It would be very useful for the people working on tablets.

I think this list of supported or decoupled core extensions should be clear.AlexVega wrote:Hi there!

"Core-Supported Extensions
Contact
Finder
Messages
Newsfeeds
Redirect
Search
Weblinks"
I for example miss that Tags will be a core supported extension and if not something is going very very wrong with Joomla.
There should also be a list of what core extensions that will be decoupled there...

Those changes seem pretty amazing! There's only one thing I can complain about is page load speed, sometimes it's up to 2-3 seconds.AlexVega wrote:Hi there!

Well, Joomla! provides us the main structure, WPO is an interesting topic,
but it is not just in how joomla handles this.
Much depends on the amount of content, the size of the resources like images,
the number of extensions, the amount of requests and even the server where you
have your installation, one of the things that I think that we don't have much control,
at least by default it is in the block jdoc head.
I am excited to see also the new features of the next big version.
Best Regards!
