zwsp in tinyMCE removed on saving

Post by hengsovann » Sun Aug 19, 2012 10:50 am

Joomla 2.5.6
Plug-in Manager: Editor - TinyMCE
Entity Encoding = Raw
or
Entity Encoding =Named
TinyMCE removed all zero width space on saving.

In Khmer language (Cambodian Language) we use zero width space to indicate word boundaries eg. "ខ្ញុំទៅសាលា"="ខ្ញុំទៅសាលា".

To prevent TinyMCE remove zwsp I have to set Entity Encoding = Numeric, but this setting made us difficult to read everything in numeric encoding when toggle editor mode .

I found a topic 2264 TinyMCE entities bug

Hope anyone could help and guide me step by step how to fix this with

Code: Select all

\plugins\editors\tinymce\tinymce.php
Thanks in advance!

1. How do you enter these spaces usually in text area?
Is there a way for you to enter them as unicode with your keyboard?

2. I guess you also have issues with the search function, or not?

we use anywhere not only in the text area.
Show result in google search will be different with or without zwsp
without: ហេងសុវណ្ណ
with zwsp between ហេង and សុវណ្ណ => ហេងសុវណ្ណ
How we input the zwsp via keyboard? it is depend on the keyboard layout, but most of keyboard use "space bar" to input the "zwsp" ="" because we use it very often the same as space in english.

ឹwith or without the zwsp the search result will be different.

eg. "ហេងសុវណ្ណ" is not the same as "ហេងសុវណ្ណ" it is like "HengSovann" is not the same as "Heng Sovann".
