JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
hi
i've been working on a site on J1.6 RC1 and all was going quite well since this morning, for no reason, when i launched my admin page i got this message written in red on top of the page;
JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
i get it at my admin login page as well as on every single other page...
don't know why it happened all of the sudden like this, i didn"t even work on the site yesterday and all was working well...
any idea where this could come from?

Seems Kunena leaves a bunch of garbage behind when uninstalled.
Try doing a search on the home folder for "Kunena". There are several language files and a kunena.php/kunena.ini files that cause the problem.

Re: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
Hello There,
I have the same problem. It came out after I tried to install Kunena 1.4 on Joomla 1.6 but I did not think that it was the source of the problem. After that, I uninstalled and installed Joomla 1.6 and the site was clean. Later, trying to find out a template that I could not find after uploading it with the Extension Manager, I opened up the Discover and ran it. I found there Kunena and installed it again. The problem then came out again. I am searching the kunena.php file but do not find where to make any correction. I have attached this file. I would appreciate any help? How can I uninstall a template on Joomla 1.6?
Regards,

Re: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
I would ask on the Kunena forum about that specific issue.
Uninstalling a template first requires that you make sure it is not used anywhere.
Then use the extension manager.

Thank you for your reply. When I do so I get always the message "You can't delete the last style of a template."

Don't delete the style, make sure you delete any uses of it. Then you can delete the template.

Check your file ownership and make sure they are all consistent but it is also possible you had a server change.

Re: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
I found this happens if you uninstall a component and not all of the plugins. In my case, I believe it was Zoo

@Montano: You are right. I had the same problem with Database PRO.
Thanks for your solution.

Re: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
hi dude ! if you got that error after uninstalled one component, just try to search if you have another part of this component or part of its plugin that remain in the system, and uninstall it too.

Re: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
I got this error on J3.3.3 on a localhost site.
My C drive, previously had started to run scandisks on startup. I just happened to notice it messing with some index.** files, moving them, or doing something with them. I thought it strange.
Since then i've had problems with my c:xamp install with a few of my sites.
This error is one of those issues.
My solution was to go to Extension Manager ... Click on side menu Discover.
Click the Discover button. Then a whole list of plugins & extensions came up.
I nervously selected an unimportant one (an editor button plugin), then clicked the "Install" button.
It said successfully installed, then the error went away from backend and frontend.
I suspect this is definitely an extension/plugin/mod issue. something gets mixed up. I think this is a good solution.

FTP worked for me !
But as someone suggested it's permission problem . I run the admin tools to fix the permission now everything is fine !
At least now .
