After updating to 2.5.11 on my Joomla sites I have been experiencing a nightmare of numerous errors and functionality problems on all sites.

I tried the 'fix' function on the database tab but without resolve.
How can this be fixed?

Used the update function in admin and also then used the ftp method on the first listed above after issues showed

The current functionality problem on front end is the menu categories items return 404 errors however occasionally do render the categories.

On the backend:
When I attempt to edit an article
500 - An error has occurred.
Missing field in the database: JTableContent id. Missing field in the database: JTableContent id.

Managed at one point to change the SEF URLs to 'no' to see if that would have helped, but now can't change back.
Could not save data. Error: The Global Configuration extension could not be found. Text filter settings have not been saved.

505 error on module manager
can't open any items in plugin manager

Ok, so since the swimbarbadosvactions.com site has a critical time factor I was about to rebuild quickly in a subfolder.

On attempting my first function in a new install, of taking the site offline in global configuration..... I encountered this:
"Could not save data. Error: The Global Configuration extension could not be found. Text filter settings have not been saved."
If this is happening from a new install and not an update, now I don't know where to go from here

The only change brought to database in 2.5.10 is to unprotect the banners module.
Otherwise last changes were done in 2.5.7.

I see no reason for your errors except if there was a corruption when you uploaded the new install.
