I just sent a test from your first link and received the copy OK. There was no error message I could see. How about emails from the back end - are they working?

Yes it is working, but with Mandrill service.. not joomla default
If needed i can deactivate Madrill for testing

I do not know Mandrill but are you saying that Mandrill is a good workaround for now. Are any of the above test sites? If not perhaps you have or can create a test site to avoid disrupting any real customers? Have you any error messages from earlier tests?

Yes, Mandrill solved the problem but it must not be THE solution.
Joomla must work!!! It was working before and I have other websites (joomla, wordpress, php, etc..) working at the same server and with the same configurations.

Please, use my own website: http://webfarus.com/contactos
I have deactivated Mandril and captcha for easy testing and have set language to English.

I do not have early messages.

Thank you for your help

I have just upgraded my test system from 2.5.3 to 2.5.6
and I cannot replicate the error: my email still works fine.

However on yours I get the messages:
Could not instantiate mail function.
Could not instantiate mail function.

What version were you on before 2.5.6 and did it work OK?

Have you changed
Global Configuration > Server > Mail Settings
Perhaps you could post here
the mail settings which are not confidential.

Also there is some info at
http://www.fox.ra.it/forum/13-submissio ... ction.html
and
viewtopic.php?f=625&t=726195

I usually upgrade every time.
So, my last version was 2.5.5 (but, for sure, it was working on 2.5.4)

I have read all that forum posts.. But i want to try every thing else first before doing this: viewtopic.php?f=625&t=726195

I can PM you with admin credentials

I don't think I need your admin credentials at the moment thanks.

In
Site - system Info - PHP Info
I can see that I have
safe_mode Off

Have you?

(see http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=28722 for details)

As safe_mode is deprecated anyway I know of no risk in turning it off.

It worked with safemode OFF
I did it by php.ini
What are the alternatives to turn off safe mode?

You still have a problem with one of your sites despite safe_mode being off? Is it the same problem or different?

If so in
Global Configuration > Server > Mail Settings
Perhaps you could post here
the mail settings (obscuring anything confidential).

and still, i had the very same problem
i will definitely stick to Madrill or Sendgrid.. no more Joomla mail handling

If http://orisonhos.com is a live site (with your Mandrill workaround) perhaps you could copy it to a test system (e.g. by using Akeeba backup) so we could test different solutions without disrupting real users?

Yes of course if Mandrill or sendgrid are working fine for you then it is probably not worth the trouble of investigating further.

By the way I do not have any connection with Akeeba (apart from being a customer) but I really like the way I can automate my backups and copy from my live site to test.

Have a nice day.

Bye
