Hi,
Thanks all for your great comments. It really has been hard work. A lot of fixes. But then it is not straight out the box.

I just had the login fixed between Joomla and The rental script. It would log you out if you were in Joomla and then whent you went to the Rental script and visa versa.

I might still find one or two bugs left over.

Any advice on tools or extensions that take care of the development side of Joomla and just let me design and publish would be very much appreciated. Even though I am fairly technical and I can figure it out in time, I am not really in tune with the Forge mindset. I can't afford the down time and expense for consultants. Is there a good Dreamweaver tool for Joomla, as I am fairly conversant with Dreamweaver CS3, but all this PHP and module stuff takes sooooo much time to slog through.

Best bet is to scroll through the extentions at the Joomla site, try some. If you don't like them uninstall - try another. Generally I read the comments user leave about the extention. Can be valuable time saver. Just DIY- sharp learning curve- save thousands - time, what can I say -35 hour day would be good...

Thanks Glenn

Website has been developed very well.
How did you integrate the external booking provider (Gulliver)? Do you have to pay them a fee or how does it work?
Very impressive site - a lot of thought and work gone in to it

I go a script from them and just banged it into my site, and they created a "white label" intergration with their site -Gulliver. I get paid by them.

Lot of hard work has been put in, by myself alone. Many late nights.
I am on the marketing now.

Glenn

It is a Javascript search script- it call three files - .js files, which I modified to insert a picture background - the green box.

Cheers

Hi Glenn!

First of all, congratulations with a very nice looking site!

Can I ask what extension you use for the restaurant directory?

Best regards

Alex

Looks good.

One of your main menu links "ABOUT" doesn't appear to fit on the same line - drops below the "Home" link. Might be due to the length of the text of your categories... i.e. changing Featured Accommodation to just Accommodations.

Nice work.

Hi, Thanks for the info.
Question: what resolution/screensize?

Mine looks fine on 15 inch monitor at 1024x768.

Firefox. IE7 and 6 ok for me.

Regards
Glenn

I've attached a pic of what I'm seeing. I'm running 1152x864 on my Mac using Firefox 2.0.0.7 build - just doesn't look like enough room for the ABOUT to fit in the header. But, the site looks fine on the PC side in Firefox.

Probably not a big deal since it's only on the Mac side.  ;)

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

It is the template I am using - it is a great template but very fickle. I still have an issue with IE6 - it drops the left menu when looking at catagory view in my driectory.

Can't seem to fix it. works fine in ie7 and firefox.

I might go to the template forum and see if I can find anything there.

The template is table-less and when you mix tables with div - problems happen.

Thanks
Glenn

Hi,
When you do the upgrade on Fireboard the sql you are to run does not fully complete. It stops at the first "duplicate entry", so the rest of the sql upgrade does not complete.

So what I did was run each line of the sql upgrade individually - slow but it does the job.

This fixed the who is online issue.

Regards
Glenn

Hi Glen Great Site

Looks like it has had  a "team" on it so well done couldn't really fault it.
What module did you use for the hotels and checking each hotel out and the images for each hotel, is that part of coppermine, those images or is that part of some kind of accommodation directory. I'd love to swap links with you and get some info on my site in the Ireland section if possible. Let me know, thanks
calvin

What did you use to get the javascript menu working like that, is it custom js or a module ? Looks good.

Hi Calvin.

Thanks for the feed back.

I am using Jreviews for Joomla - great component, great support.
Not the easiest component to use, but once you get your head around it -it is fantastic.
I am getting great SEO results as well for the listings.
You can set up a directory og any sort to suite your needs. I have one for Hotels and one for restuarants. I am adding another one for a few other ideas I have.

i have a link exchange on my site - go to About and then Link Partners - Please be aware I only exchange links if it is Travel related.

Lets talk about the info on the irish section, I am alway open to stuff.

Glenn

I am getting the following error on most of your links to individual Featured properties:

pat-Error Attribute 'conditionvar' missing for tab2 in com_content.html on line 45

Note: this happened in Firefox only - not in IE and seems to be OK now

Lovely site - just a little too much white space on the side columns on the front page. After you scrolled down the stuff (modules?) in the left and right columns sort of peters out.
