Hey folks,

I'd been using Joomla for over a year and I love what it can do, but I was kind of over what seemed like a lot of unnecessary complexity on the backend. So I built a new site in Wordpress. I'd be really interested in people's feedback on either site. It seems harder to make the WP version pretty, but it also seems like it's easier to build in a lot of functionality very quickly.

also- given that we know that Joomla can do a LOT more than WP- if anyone has any advice on how to make a Joomla site as easy to use on the backend as WP, I'd love to hear it. I'm sure I'm not done with it as a platform.

I'm on the flip side of your coin. I've been doing WP, but now need quite a bit more umph and want to integrate a lot of things together so I'm reading furiously on Joomla!.

I think if you need several different things to all match then Joomla! is better. IE: a forum, a store, recent news, etc.

If you are just blogging, then by all means wp is fine. You could probably go as far as to have a WP template designed that looks exactly like your Joomla! site. I see the WP is a bit more toned down.

I am hoping to use both.
