Taken a while to get it all together, but it's finally launched!

http://www.rsmusic.co.uk

Joomla! 1.0.13

Componants:
VirtueMart
Forme
JoomSEF, Virtuemart patch, Linx patch
DS-Syndicate
Linx
Frontpage Slideshow

Modules:
Google Analytics Tracking Module for VirtueMart
mod_vm_shoppingCartList
FlexContent

Mambots:
Xe-MP3MambotV1
Social Bookmarker Mambot

Had to use a load of hacks to get everything working how we wanted.

Please feel free to give us negative feedback, because we are always looking for ways to improve our designs and functionality.

The only thing that we are already not happy with is the loading time on the Virtuemart browse pages, but we were willing to sacrifice a bit of performance to use the Xe-MP3 Mambot on every item.

Bare with me if the folowing is written like notes.  ;D

Strongly, i  Like. Garage is my fave  :-[ You hot the spot with me and the prices a brill. I like the way you can just press play, not taken to a different page and just listen to what you like. SOOO much easier.

i would like to see a search facility. Although default joomla isnt brill, ive just got a few artists i would like to find.

More info... TrackListings are very good. Nice and neat. Clear precise.

Definately does not look like a joomla.

The icons on the cart under 'update' could do with tidying up. They look very pixely

The checkout procedure where you input your info, the white needs toning down to a grey. Ive had a guy called Vince who is a marketing consultant for ecommerce and he has noted to me about this in the past. so i thought i would pass on the info.

How are the items going to be delivered? Is it via a download or actual cd? Nothing is refered in the description or around the site.

Paypal are funny! They used to just accept the card details, process the payment and the user didnt have to sign up to an account. This peed me off when they changed this process and now you have to be a member. Google checkout dont require you to have an account. That may be something to look into.

Thats it. The process went ok. DO you get a confirmation when the person h asnt returned to the site. That used to be a problem.

Hope this helps
PM if you have any questions, ill be happy to help

From a visual perspective it looks great althoguh i agree with the secure site issue brought up by RLM.

also black is really cool, but i had always thought that light colors liek white encourage more sales.  maybe im wrong. i just dont ever recall makign an online pruchase from a black website, since i usually associate that with personal pages.

anyway, very very nice job.

Visually, looks good, but the search is missing?
I don't see how to filter the songs by categories (style, artist, etc...)

Hi Guys

Very nice looking site. By far the best use of Flash mp3 player I have seen so far.
If you don't mind, can you tell me how many people and hours it took to develop?
I am currently developing a health and wellness community portal and want to sell self improvement mp3's.
I was very impressed with the clean way you list the mp3's and enable them to be added to the cart. Another question, will you be or can it already allow multiple adds to the cart, say if a customer wanted to buy 3 or 4 tracks from one particular artist?

Thanks

David

David,

I have to say FANTASTIC mate ;D

This is very very well done, stitched together nicely, i love the way you layed it out it is easy to follow for the layman.

I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing as you. I really appreciate that you listed the modules you used as i was
hunting everywhere and you saved me a lot of grief and time.

I will keep you informed of my project and let you know when its ready for release.

once again a big thumbs up mate... and a silver star

Hi Thank you so much for listing the components used to build your site. We are interested in how you accomplished the Digital Download part and using virtueMart. We could not find any adons that supported digital downloads and it appears that VirtueMart does not support Digital Downloads out of the box. Can you help with some insight on this part? Thanks.

I like the website, simple but effective. I am new to Joomla! and I am currently trying to develop an online music store. Is it possible for you to let me have any information, tips or tutorials that would assist me in this venture? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I must say this website is very very well made.

However, there is one slight flaw i didnt like.

I hate the white wordings in a black background. After reading for about 10secs, my eyes were tired.. Perhaps something to consider...
