Joomla 1.6 articles AND modules stripping onclick event

Hi,

I've tried just about everything to fix this. I tried the text filter, I tried going to the TinyMCE plugin, and adding allowable tags, I tried using a module. No dice.

All I'm trying to do is insert a simple onclick event

onClick="return popup(this, 'notes')"

Which is getting stripped out everytime I save.

What gives?

I had read about using the JCE editor and that by disabling the filter on that one, it could work, but I tried to install the JCE editor, but it's build for 1.6, and I keep getting errors.

I'm having the problem as well....have you found a solution?
