I'm having a hard time setting an access level for Modules.

How do I hide the "Administrator" modules from a specific group? They should be able to view the "Site" modules but not the "Administrator" modules.

Under the "Special" level, the group is NOT selected, so why are they still able to see content that is set to "Special"?

Joomla 2.5.6

Hi,

I dont think you will be able to set the ACL permission based on type(admin or site) of module. Can someone confirm on this?

I'm not trying to set the ACL based on "admin" or "site". I want to know how to set the ACL based on Group or Access Level so a certain Group or Access Level CANNOT see the modules that are for "admin".

I thought the Access Level "special" would do that but I must be wrong.

Thanks!!

Create a new access level. You can call it something like "admins only." Then for that access level, click only the groups that you want to have access or to view these modules.

For the modules in question, assign them to this new access level. That's it.

One thing to watch out for... If an access level includes a parent group but not its child group, any user assigned to the child group will be able to access/view modules assigned to this access level. If this is your problem... Consider creating a group that exists just to give access to the admin modules. Then create your new access level to include only this group, and to be assigned to these admin modules. Any user who should have access to these admin modules should belong to this new group in addition to whatever other groups they should belong to.
