Menu and submenus

Post by satikin » Thu Oct 23, 2014 4:58 pm

On my site's Main Menu I created a menu Products with 2 sub menus: Cellars and Coolers. Products is a Category type Menu. This category has 3 articles. Is it possible to disable when clicking on Products to show the 3 articles? In other words, I want my customers to be able to click only on Cellars and Coolers submenus.

For the menu item Products, try using the menu item type "Text Separator" and see what happens. If this does not work, use the menu item type "External URL" and provide "#" as the URL.

I have tried both methods but when I click save I get "Save failed with the following error: The home menu item must be a component."
I have read in the threads that another member had the same problem but eventually he found out which setting he had wrong and solved it. But he didn;t say what the solution was

Check the Default Menu Item (marked with a star). This Menu Item must be internal, not an external url type.

I solved the problem. I made "Home" the default Menu and I selected "Text Separator" as Menu Type for my "Products" Menu. Then Save. I thank you all because without your advise I would not be able to solve the problem.
