Why is my site not receiving any Backlinks

I have posted links to my site http://www.accbattles.com to my accompanying social media sites and have been doing this for well over 2 years.

I recently registered for bing webmaster tools and did a link search and to my surprise there were only two links to backlinks to my site and those were from forums where I was trying to get some help.

Is there something that I am doing in Joomla to block backlinks? I know for a fact that a lot of my links are shared and posted via facebook, twitter, pinterest and tumnblr

No but a quick google will tell you that links from twitter are nofollow links

Thanks for the reply Brian. You are what hooked me to Joomla. A few years ago watched one of your joomla day videos on [youtube] and I was hooked.

Ok I have posted links to my site from other sites that I own. Is there a simple explanation to why those backlinks don't show up?

There are several other blogs that link to articles on my site as well.

you need to check if they are nofollow links. there is nothing in your joomla site that can effect the way google registers links

I tell my children no question is a bad question lol, but How do I check to see if they are NoFollow links?

I feel like I should know this but I do not.

i think you are getting no follow links you should find out dofollow links its good for joomla and any website for increas traffic..
