Weid problem with prefix in Joomla [solved]

Post by alex126 » Tue May 24, 2016 10:26 am

Occassionally the prefix of all the by Joomla generated URL's changes on https://beleggen.info/

Instead of https://site.info/brokers/beste-broker all the URL's change to something random like: https://wwqw.site.info/cfd/demo.

All the menu items and URL's change to this; although the pages work the browser will initially block them because of the SSL privacy issue.

By clearing the cache the problem is solved temporarily, but wrong URL's always come back.

Does anyone know a fix to this?

I've never seen this before, but I can think of 2 reasons causing this:

- You are using a non-core SEF tool and there is some data corruption somewhere in the tool.
- Your website is hacked (you should run a scan to make sure that your website is not hacked). Having wwqw in the URL is very suspicious.

I found the solution: it was aparantly caused by DNS records that where incorrect. The solution is to change from a wild dns record to a specific record.
