Dear community, I'm new to Joomla and I need some guidance as I can't seem to find an answer to my question.

Whenever I try to add any type of content to a category, whether it is simple text, an image, or an attachment, they are not displayed on the front end.

I understand that there are settings to be checked in order to enable this, but all seems ok there...

Hi. Welcome to Joomla World :) .

You can turn it ON for all categories in the global configuration.

Or you can turn it ON for for separate category in Category Blog menu item settings.

Because I'm on a slightly outdated version it looks a bit different. :D
Do you think the below is the correct section? I can't see the category description/image...

Hi.
No. The appearance is different, but structurally nothing has changed. Category Blog menu item settings > Category tab.
