Hello forum,

I am a Fledging. Hello there, I hear this is a great forum. One of which I hope to make very good use of.

When members register and login. Next to their name is says logged in as (Joomla).

How do I remove the name Joomla, so only their login name shows on the page.

Thank you.
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

I'm running a standard joomla 2.51 installation, and when users login it says:

Quote:
Hi First Last (replaced with their first and last name)

I've looked through standard settings, and it doesn't appear this can be changed in the admin dashboard anywhere.

1. Does this happen with English, or are you using another language?
2. Do you have any extensions involved that deal with user logins? They may be causing some kind of conflict.

Hi Geoff, and welcome.

Where are you referring to it saying logged in as (Joomla)? I believe when you have a normal user register it would substitute any name fields with what they put in for a name or username.

Have you tried creating new users and seeing what happens?

Ruth

Hello both,

Thank you for a speedy reply.

I have Zoo as an extension.

When any registered user is logged in. This is their name above the boxes that they are able to leave comments. I am trying to find a way to delete the (Joomla)

Comments (0)

Logged in as (registrants name) (Joomla)

Changing name is good use of registration, this is more beneficial to client.

I'm not familiar with ZOO, perhaps try asking one of their support team?

I guess my first idea (again, shooting from the hip here) would be to modify the ZOO core files, deleting the code that displays "(Joomla)", as I assume you've already verified there isn't an option in ZOO's settings which disable it. Otherwise, perhaps you can use CSS and set it to not display?

Hi Geoff,

Were you able to make any progress on removing the "(Joomla)" text next to logged in users? If not, if you can respond back with your site's URL, I'd be happy to review the HTML to see if there is a way you can use CSS to hide that part.

Hi Brad,

Zoo gave me a php procedure that I tried but it just removed the entire theme for that page and did not work.

I am also about to post a question.

The Joomla Search is not working correctly and I cannot seem to configure it.

Front end users are saying that they are unable to request a new password and many say they cannot login at all.

Am having a bit of a nightmare trying to know what to do.

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

The original problem you reported:
Quote:
When members register and login. Next to their name is says logged in as (Joomla).

Is that resolved?

I see in your last response you stated you're having even more problems:
Quote:
The Joomla Search is not working correctly and I cannot seem to configure it.

Quote:
Front end users are saying that they are unable to request a new password and many say they cannot login at all.

If the Zoo team gives you instructions on how to do something and you're not sure how to go about it, feel free to post the instructions here and maybe we can help make more sense out of them.

Thanks,
- Brad
