I'd suggest re-uploading the latest Joomla Core Package, and overwriting any of the old files. That would be a great place to start, and would help you diagnose the problem. Try it, and let us know how your site responds once this upload and replacement is done.

Thx for your kind suggestion, however, shall i lose everything?
In fact it seems as it is the Jconfig Class that's missing.
Do you think I can find it on another server and try copy/paste it
Thx again

If you only replace the Joomla core, you should not lose anything. Your articles are stored in a database (separate from your Joomla core) and your extensions (templates, modules, plugins) should not be changed either. In other words, you are "updating" your site with the latest version of Joomla (even if it's supposed to be running with the latest version).

Dear Ryan,
Thx for your help.
However I need more help please. Are you suggesting that I should re-install Joomla? Or should I just override (replace or copy/paste from somewhere else)some files/directories.
Thx again for your kind help.
Regards
Nour

- First and foremost create a backup of the web server and database server on your remote host.
- Download a fresh copy of the Joomla Stable Package
- Unzip this on your local pc using 7-Zip or similar
- Delete the installation/ directory (absolute priority)
- Upload the files to the same directory on your host where these files already exist and overwrite them, using an FTP client WinSCP or FileZilla.
- Check the functionality of your site.

Hi everybody
So any working working core Package of Joomla 2.5 should work to overwrite the actual one right?
Here's what I'll try to do.
1. Copy all the actual directories (using ftp)
2. Rename directory "administrator" "admin-site"
3. Upload using Filezilla a working "administrator" directory
4. Check
if it works evaluate the site , evaluate Admin, modules etc.
if I still receive same error message go to 2. and proceed with the next directory
5. If the problem is fixed I'll let you know
If it doesn't work I'll tell how things have changed or if they didn't change at all
Have a nice week end and thx again

Dear friends,
It didn't work!
I have renamed all the directories (16) one by one.
administrator
archive
cache
cgi-bin
cli
components
docsite
images
includes
language
libraries
logs
media
modules
plugins
tmp
stats could not be renamed
And the 8 files located in the root directory.
I have uploaded eqivalent directories and files.
I still receive the same error messages.
Yes I have cleaned my browsers's cache.
I still can access neither the website neither the Admin login page
What do you think is to be done?
Any idea any thing to try?
Thank you very much
All the bests

Who is your web host? And what sort of web hosting environment are you using (is it Linux? Windows? Apache?)
