I need help in integrating google maps so that users can save the routes from the frontend. I have installed jumi and have the google api code as well, but it does not seem to work. Can someone help in this regard

I embed them into my articles in an iframe as below:

{iframe} http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... GoYm6I7wyg {/iframe}

You can see the result at http://www.dawleymfg.com/

I then use SmartFormer to add a contact form in a module position below the article and only viewable on that page.

You need to edit the Text filter in Global config and edit your editors options to avoid the iframe code being stripped.

Or you could use http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... /maps/8590 and their plugin.

Thanks guys.. I was looking into integration something like what www.mapmyride.com provides.. I guess i will have to write my own code to do the same.

Most of the extensions only provide an option of displaying maps and finding out the route map etc..

however it would be a great extension and will instantly click if developed!

Most but not all.

Phoca maps can use a Google KML file and have makers placed on it. An example of how good Phocamaps is can be found at http://www.tridentsmartrepairs.co.uk/ca ... as-covered . The KML file was created with free tools http://www.freemaptools.com/ .

Google don't use API for maps any more.
