You should view the troubleshooter detailed at AkeebaBackup.com as this is where the issue is originating. https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentat ... ation.html

Have you properly changed the configuration.php to reflect the change of location? In particular the /log and /tmp paths.

Is this a site that has been upgraded to 2.5.4 or any other updating done prior to the move?
Have you made any edits to the ACL of the site at all?
Please run the Forum post Assistant to provide the information to help us try and resolve the issue.

Well, if you had followed everything as you state you would know from the instructions for the FPA in the post containing it, and the onscreen instructions, you would know the answer was YES!

What setting was FileZilla set to (in its Options/Preferences panel) for the default transfer type for the transfer - should have been binary.

Are you certain you have the correct paths for the /logs and /tmp paths?

And the answers of your questions are: logs and tmp paths are starting from... /home/username/public_html/logs... same for tmp ... Is it correct?
Filezilla settings are default have just changed the speed of downloading and uploading.

To double check that the /tmp and /log directory paths are correct you can run the following script.

To find out what the absolute path is:
  1. Copy the following code into a text editor.
    • Do not use any Windows/Microsoft editors for this as they can add unwanted code,
    • Suggest you use Notepad++ or similar.
  2. Save the file with a .php extension
    • You can call the file whatever you like, for example, filepath.php.
  3. Using your FTP software upload the file you have just created to your web_root directory.
    • Again do not use Microsoft/Windows own software
    • Recommend using WinSCP or FileZilla on Windows)
  4. Open your web browser and type in http://www.example.com/filepath.php.
    • Obviously replace example.com with your own domain name ;)
  5. The output from this file will show the absolute path for your server.
Code:
<?php
            $path = getcwd();
            echo "The absolute path is: ";
            echo $path;
?>

WARNING: For security reasons, it is imperative that you delete this file as soon as you have the output that you require.

When I now try to view the administrator I am sent straight through to the site instead!

There have been a raft of issues that have been reported some "user created" some because of a bug in Joomla 2.5.4. This may or may not be the cause of your issue but trying it is not an issue.

A reported fix for this is as follows: (From the Bug Tracker additional emphasis by me)
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=28354
The issue described in this thread has been "fixed" in the latest trunk.

  1. Symptoms
    This fix addresses the following symptoms (all of these must be a symptom):
    • Automatic login to backend
    • Attempting to logout of backend fails
    • Backend login form never shows
    • The admin modules such as main menu are missing or the backend is blank
    • List of users are shown when browsed to /administrator/index.php?option=com_users&view=users
    • Upgraded to Joomla! 2.5.4
  2. Why is this happening
    The Global Configuration's permission for Admin Login has been set to allowed for the Public group. This could occur through a bad default or a user misconfiguration.
  3. How to fix
    There are two methods that should fix this.
    The first method doesn't require any modifications to core files and fixes the root cause of the problem (recommended).
    The second method requires a core file change and should only be attempted if the first method failed, or you are unable to access the Administrator Menus.
  4. First Method
    1. Browse to http://example.com/administrator/?option=com_login
    2. At the Login Form, enter a Super Admin's username and password
    3. Go to Site⇒Global Configuration then Click on the Permissions tab
    4. Under the Public drop down, set the Admin Login to Not Set.
      Note: you should set all values in this Public drop down list to Not Set (http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=624&p=2785068#p2785053).
    5. Click Save & Close
    6. Try to log out and if the login form appears, this method worked and your site should be fixed.
    Assumption:
    • The Guest User Group setting located in the User Manager options is set to Public.
  5. Second Method
    1. Replace the contents of joomla_root/administrator/includes/helper.php with the contents on https://raw.github.com/joomla/joomla-cm ... helper.php.
    2. After regaining access, you should go to the Global Configuration->Permissions then set the PublicAdmin Login to Not Set. It might be a good idea to check all the permissions in this section to ensure it has the correct settings.

    This fix will be included in J! 2.5.5.

**********************************************************

  1. You did state not having upgraded Joomla but have any of the Extensions been updated?
  2. Do you have any paths listed or redirects made in the .htaccess file?
  3. What settings are you using in the .htccess file?
  4. What if anything doe you have for the
    Code:
    public $live_site = '';
    in the configuration.php? If you do have any value entered, try removing it, to just leave the empty quote marks as shown in the code above.
  5. If you do not have the
    Code:
    ##
    # Uncomment following line if your webserver's URL
    # is not directly related to physical file paths.
    # Update Your Joomla! Directory (just / for root).
    ##

    # RewriteBase /

    RewriteBase / code in the .htaccess uncommented do so.

Obviously do not try all of this in one go! Try one thing and if it does not work reverse any changes you made, before doing the next.

Thank you so much...it's not yet solved...
* Adding up any thing at the end of /administrator/ does not show anything... still blank...
*tried replacing the helper.php text... didn't help
* i have added nothing in .htaccess file
* checked again the configuration.php file all ok there...
Well i think there must be some problem with server not with joomla...
I am now trying one last thing... i will transfer the website in another hosting/server. may be the problem solves with new hosting.

The other thing to try would be to use the Akeeba Backup Extension and Kickstart program to make the move.
Read the extensive documentation on-line at Akeeba Backup or download a copy of the same.;

IMPORTANT
Also see Installation, upgrade and update troubleshooting for Akeeba Backup, Admin Tools and other software for help with resolving or avoiding "500 errors" with Akeeba products.

i have used this several times and have idea and knowledge about it... but for this hosting /server ... It is not accepting akeeba backup files .. niether .jpa file with kickstart.php nor the .zip file of akeeba backup... So as a last resort i thought of transferring through filezilla...
Anyways You have been so helpful.. Thank you... As soon as i will try the same thing on new hosting and if it will work i will inform in a reply...
:)
